Skatepark here in town is the saddest example of a venue you'll see and this is why our motto is "Great Skate Parks Make Great Towns".
Will there be any change here after two hires [Matt Pryde and Jamie Ferguson] since 2013 when the advocacy for a new concrete skatepark started? Probably not.
Listening to "community speak" with "two months on the job" Jamie is "illuminating" and instead of talking to real people about the needs of the youth when it comes to recreational opportunities he is clearly part of the 'green cult that runs the town'.. so I don't get the sense he would put [unless pushed very hard] any effort towards building a new concrete skatepark venue much like the lazy Matt Pryde character -- both are paid extremely well.
Is this picture above from Tantramar's Facebook page a deliberate attempt by disrespectful staffers to discredit new skatepark supporter and long time Town Councillor Bruce Phinney? Why put the photo backwards so Bruce's name is mirror imaged?Maybe the next elected Mayor in 2026 will make this project a bigger priority and work to move this along into a reality for our deserving youth?
Note: Jamie is a green activist and "climateering environmentalist" who has received a lot of "formal education" but probably doesn't have much real and practical know-how when it comes to what we need in an "active living" advocate who would take on a big project such as this new skatepark venue.
