"If you build it they will come" but Town of Tantramar management and staff are ALL actively avoiding / dismissing this youth skatepark venue project.. ask why? They have all the wrong priorities... and they do not represent the people. Who does?

Tantramar Landowners Association.. a voice outside the narrative.

Meanwhile, Mount Allison University grifts another big chunk of money free...a whopping $36Million!

Have asked Bruce Wark @ Wark Times numerous times to cover this new skatepark venue project at his local website but so far nothing from him at all.. and I read more negative commentary recently from old timer Les Hicks in town who thinks that this is a project that no one cares about -- read his words at the comments section of this article link:

Mayor wrong to limit debate on proposed Lafford building, former councillors say | (warktimes.com)

What Les Hicks is trying to say is that he himself doesn't care about this youth project and he imagines that he speaks for more people than himself.. but he does not... and he is again being his usual negative and argumentative and unproductive old self....  so I should not be surprised.

Of course the many active skateboarding youth here and potential visitors do care about this new concrete skatepark venue project BUT its just that they just have no one to speak up for them... no one willing to help them out here.  They already made their presentation back in the summer of 2013 and were completely ignored ... the local management hopes everyone will forget that fact but I don't... and neither do those youth and others including Pat Estabrooks, former mayor, whose grandson Ethan Sears was one of those youth presenting to mayor Bob Berry and town councillors in their fancy chambers in the new Town Hall Palace.  Former Sackville Mayor Pat Estabrooks has thanked me for making this project something to focus on.. and I have spoken with many youth at the park over the years who agree a much better park would be great.

Les Hicks is pictured below in his face diaper..

More here on the local news this week from CHMA Facebook [ Note: this project was brought to the attention of Erica Butler but she fails to report]:

 ·
Mayor Andrew Black has scheduled a special council meeting for Wednesday, July 19 at 12pm to consider the third and final reading of the bylaw changes that will rezone a portion of 131 Main Street to higher density R3, and then change the R3 zone to allow for buildings up to 65 feet in height."
