One woman on Facebook commented that "Sackville doesn't need an expensive concrete skatepark... you can just get in your car and drive to Moncton or Amherst if you want to experience a skatepark". . . Wow.. you so wrong woman... and not true.... not everyone has a car - wake up - and not everyone can drive yet [young teens] - those youth who want to enjoy a day of skateboarding on a new concrete skatepark are faced with a crappy local skatepark.. why? Please think before you dismiss this great project as frivolous - its a needed project to build.
Frivolous is a $14million town hall building complex thanks to former Mayor Pat Estabrooks - a wasteful contribution to the town overall.. thanks for nothing Pat. It was Pat's grandson Ethan Sears and a dozen youth who presented to the mayor and councillors in 2013 about a new skatepark venue and they were ignored ... its been 10 years since their group's request and nothing has advanced... why? We need to get this project done now.
